How your files are handled
Plain answers on what I receive, where it is kept, and when it is deleted. If anything here is unclear, email me before you share a single file.
What I receive
- 5 reports exported from QuickBooks Online. Never a login, and nothing in your books changes.
- The files go into a private folder that only you and I can open. Never by email.
- A confidentiality agreement is signed before any file is shared.
- This website has no upload form and never receives client files.
How long anything is kept

Anonymized benchmarking, only if you say yes
The agreement has one optional box. If you check it, I keep a short summary of the engagement so future scans get more accurate. You can say no, founding clients included, and you can withdraw at any time.
With your permission, we keep an anonymized summary of this engagement (your trade, region, revenue range, and the number and relative size of items found, expressed as a share of revenue) to improve the accuracy of our reviews. It will not include your name, your customers' or vendors' names, document numbers, or exact financial figures, will never be sold, and will only be shared in aggregates of five or more businesses.
That summary never contains company names, customer names, vendor names, job names, document numbers, or exact revenue.
What never happens
- Your data is never sold.
- No client report is ever posted on this site or anywhere else online. The only scan on this site is the sample, built from a made up company.
- Nothing is shared outside an aggregate of five or more businesses, and only with your permission.
If something goes wrong
If a file is ever sent to the wrong person, a folder is shared too widely, or a laptop is lost, you hear about it the same day: what was exposed and what was done about it.
